Diagramm Halbach wins award for personnel management
Diagramm Halbach was awarded the "New Deals" distinction for personnel management within the framework of this year's award ceremony held on 10 October 2013. General manager Philipp Halbach and personnel manager Detlef Mücke accepted the certificate during the ceremony held at the Thyssen-Krupp Info Center in Dortmund. The independent expert panel based its decision on the company's special commitment to training, personnel development, health at the workplace and the reconciliation of family and career.
General manager Philipp Halbach is delighted with the award: "We have invested a great deal of time and effort in a professional training management scheme in recent years, as well as a management development program, a number of company health management campaigns and activities to promote the reconciliation of family and career. We are so pleased that our commitment has been acknowledged in such a special way with this distinction for personnel management. We regard the award as an incentive to continue living up to the high standards that we have set for ourselves as an attractive training company and family-friendly employer."
The "New Deals" distinction attests to the Schwerte-based family firm's successful implementation of sustainable personnel development instruments. These include a training program which, apart the usual learning content, encompasses a number of formats and events, such as trainee excursions, a mentor system, trainee agents, practical work placement in other countries within the framework of the Leonardo da Vinci program that funds vocational education and training projects.
Physiological workplace assessments – with particular focus on workplaces in the production department – were carried out at the premises of Diagramm Halbach in cooperation with the Institute for Production Systems (IPS) of TU Dortmund University within the framework of the "Change pro CSR" project. These assessments investigate the ways in which potentially harmful conditions at the workplace can be reduced by means of technical equipment and organizational measures. Apart from this, a health day event organized in collaboration with the Werkarztzentrum Schwerte (occupational health center), two health insurance companies – Barmer GEK and BKK VDN – and several of Schwerte's physiotherapy practices provided an ideal opportunity to present and try out numerous health checks and preventive healthcare measures.
As far as Diagramm Halbach is concerned, the reconciliation of family and career is not merely an abstract social challenge, but a very real entrepreneurial responsibility. Individual working time models, part-time jobs, job sharing and teleworking are just a few of the instruments that offer parents – and mothers in particular – a means of resuming their working lives.
